Rosalie Zender Wendland

Rosalie Dodie Zender Wendland, age 42 of Mankato, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is at peace and free from pain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. John P. Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 " 8 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary with a 4:00 p.m., prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Dodie was born April 17, 1964 to Wendell and Ruth (Sandmeyer) Lorentz in Mankato. She worked for the family business, Wendell Lorentz Construction in Mankato. Dodie was united in marriage to Bryan Wendland on March 31, 2006 in Mankato. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Dodie enjoyed yard work, her cabin up north, bird watching, wildlife, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan of Mankato; four children, Crystal Van Note, Brandon Zender, Adam Schmiesing and Travis Wendland all of Mankato; two grandchildren, Serena and Shane; parents, Wendell and Ruth Lorentz of Mankato; two brothers, Robert (Sherry) Lorentz of rural Mankato, Randy Lorentz of Mankato; nieces, nephews and cousins.
