Marion M. Van Sickle, age 74 of rural Garden City, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Madelia Community Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Vernon Center with Rev. John Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Marion was born May 1, 1932 to Jacob and Martha (Ganzel) Denn in Blue Earth County, MN. She graduated from Garden City High School. Marion was united in marriage to Darrel Van Sickle on September 16, 1950 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking, flowers, and attending her grandchildrens activities.
Survived by two sons, Barry (Kate) Van Sickle of Roseville, CA, Kim (Diane) Van Sickle of Garden City; two daughters, Sue (Peter) Hayes of St. Paul, MN, Jan (John) Barke of Roseville, MN; nine grandchildren, Heather, Chase, Parker, Kara, Jesse, Jenna, Jacob, Joseph, and Carlianne; two sisters, Bernice (Richard) Bailey of Madelia, Doris (Delphin) Kietzer of Vernon Center; two brothers, Robert (Judy) Denn of Madelia, Richard (Barb) Denn of Madelia; sister-in-law, Sylvia Denn of Lewisville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Warren.
