Alma J. Dahltorp, age 98, of Lake Crystal, died Friday, August 18, 2006 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2006 at Cambria Presbyterian Church in Cambria, with Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Cambria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cambria Cemetery Association or to an organization of the donors choice.
Alma Jane Dahltorp was born September 19, 1907 in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County to William and Ida Mae (Evans) Harris. She was a 1925 Mankato High School Graduate and received her teaching degree from Mankato Normal School. On September 12, 1935, she was united in marriage to Carl A. Dahltorp in Winona. She was employed for seven years as an elementary teacher in Adams and Garvin, MN and was a homemaker for her family.
Alma was a member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church and was active with the Ladies Aide. She was also involved with the Cambria Extension Group, Royal Neighbors of America and for many years served on the Cambria Cemetery Association. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, antiquing, traveling, and socializing.
Mrs. Dahltorp is survived by two children and their spouses, Donna and Dennis Mikkelson and Ronald and LaVonne Dahltorp all of rural Lake Crystal; eight grandchildren, Greg Mikkelson, Shelly Goettl, Kari (John) Gustafson, and Cheryl (Dave) Lewis all of Lake Crystal, Caryl (Roger) Yarger of New Ulm, Christa (Steve) Warner, Colleen Dahltorp, and Correen Dahltorp all of North Mankato; 15 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Rosella Jones of Lake Crystal.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Carl on August 24, 1995 and an infant brother.
