Luther J Hove

Luther Lou James Hove, age 76, of Mankato, died Friday, August 11, 2006 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato, with Rev. Al Girtz, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to Immanuel-St. Josephs-Mayo Health System Heart Center.

Lou was born January 10, 1930 to Andrew and Minnie C. (Thompson) Hove in rural Story City, Iowa. He graduated from Elmore High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Ruby E. Ehrich on December 4, 1949 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Elmore. Lou was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling of Mankato for over 22 years and then Northland Beverages of North Mankato for over 20 years retiring in 1992. Lou was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Mankato Rotary Club. Lou enjoyed antiquing and ran an antique store in Old Town Mankato and in his home for many years. He also enjoyed attending auctions, traveling, camping and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hove of Mankato; four children, Jeff Hove of Mankato, Gregg (Michele) Hove of Chaska, Brad (Cameo) Hove of Ely, and Linda (Brahma) Sharma of Eagan; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Hove, Bradly (Rachel) Hove, Erik, Dan and Liezel Hove, Bobbi (Steven) Munson, Forest Hove, Ryan, Curtis and Stephanie Sharma; four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Chance Munson, Jayden Hove and Jackson Hove; one brother, Caroll Hove of Blue Earth; sister, Lorene (Darid) Dray of Elmore; many nieces nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Andrew Hove Jr; and a sister, Martha Noss.
