Clinton W. Faust, age 94, of Mankato, died August 5, 2006 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul D. Nolting officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Minneopa Cemetery. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Wednesday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Clinton William Faust was born August 2, 1912 in St Cloud, Minnesota to Otto and Ida (Schulz) Faust. He attended Mankato Public Schools. Clinton was in the bakery business with his father, Faust Bakery from 1922-1942. On June 8, 1940, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Lucille Seppmann at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. In 1943, he joined the US Army and served in Germany and France with the 573rd AAA BN Anti-Aircraft Division. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Clinton then worked for Archer Daniels Midland Company and Hubbard Milling Company for 25 years as a warehouse superintendent. From 1972 until the present time, Mr. Faust was a full-time manager of C.W. Faust properties. For many years, Clinton created friendships and developed affordable housing for families. He was a longtime resident of the Mankato community and served on many boards, including Blue Earth County Financial Assistance Task Force and the Minneopa Cemetery Board. He was a member of the American Legion for 53 years and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include a sister Mildred Ida Kranz of St. Paul; two nephews Robert Paul Schmitt of Mankato, Thomas Wayne Kranz and wife Carol of Mahtomedi; brother-in-law Lyle Seppman of Mankato; sisters-in-law Irene Peterson, Lenore Seppmann, Arlene Seppmann all of Mankato and Marilyn Halverson of River Falls, WI; cousins, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Lucille in 1983 and his sister Laura Larinda Schmitt in 1995.
