Clark F. Oftedahl, age 73, of Mankato, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Clark was born on January 30, 1939 in Pemberton to Theodore and Verna (Andrews) Oftedahl. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1958. Clark served in the United States Navy. On December 31, 1963 Clark was united in marriage to Patricia Nerem. They later divorced. Clark was a member of the Mankato Jaycees and the North Mankato City Council. Clark was the local Santa Claus for the last 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and crafting.

Clark is survived by two children, Crystal Oftedahl and Christopher Oftedahl; five grandchildren, Heather (Jesse) Truebenbach, Christopher Orduna, Courtney and Collin Gardner, and Olivia Oftedahl; one great-granddaughter, Abbigail Truebenbach; siblings, Gary (Jan) Oftedahl, Judy (Vern) Ledwein, Larry Oftedahl, and Linda Galston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ted.
