Mary Johanna Wilson, 87, of Mankato, MN and formerly of Amboy, MN, passed away at Hillcrest Health Care Center on December 9, 2012.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 10:30am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy, MN with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer, Jr. Visitation is Wednesday, December 12 from 4-7pm at the Mankato Mortuary in Mankato and one hour at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Amboy. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy, MN or the donor's choice.
Mary was born at home on April 9, 1925, in Ceresco Township in Minnesota to Malte and Lydia Glaubitz. She was baptized, confirmed and attended school at St. John's Lutheran Church at Willow Creek.
In 1950, Mary married Arthur Wilson. They farmed in the Amboy and Lake Crystal area for many years. Mary was also a cook at the Junction Inn in Mankato for many years.
Family was always the most important thing to Mary. She is survived by her 4 sons, Dean (Linda) Wilson and Dennis (Nancy) Wilson both of Amboy, Dale (Karen) Wilson and Delbert (Beverly) Wilson both of Mankato; her siblings, Grace (Herman) Miller of Waldorf and Norman (Betty) Glaubitz of Mankato; also 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister, Cora (Willmar) Borchardt.
