Susan Christine Bega, age 58, of Franklin, PA, died on Sunday, November 25, 2012 surrounded by her family at her sister's home in North Mankato.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake. A service and burial will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials are preferred to ChildFund International and Christian Life Academy in Seneca, PA.
Susan C. Bega was born on October 13, 1954 in Mayville, N.D. to John and Florence (Frost) Kronlokken. She graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City, IA with an associate's degree and later graduated from St. Mary's Junior College in Minneapolis with an associate's degree. She moved to Pennsylvania and worked and lived at the Lutheran Deaconess Center in Gladwyne, PA. Susan was united in marriage to David Bega in July 1989. David died in 2004. She was an occupational therapy assistant for 17 years at Polk Center before retiring. Susan volunteered her time after retirement at the ABC Pregnancy Center and the 360 Mentor Center in Franklin, PA. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, crossword puzzles, and reading. She loved bowling and was involved in league. Susan was active in the Nicklin United Methodist Church in Franklin, PA and was a Missions chairperson.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Bega of Franklin, PA; siblings, Connie Kronlokken (Don Starnes) of San Rafael, CA, Solveig (Richard) Taylor of Cleckheaton, England, Naomi Kronlokken (Priscilla Skerry) of Portland, ME, Ruth Kronlokken (Don Evans) Laporte, MN, Rebecca (David) Phipps of Cherokee, IA, David (Rachel) Kronlokken of North Mankato, and Ann (Brad) Widness of North Mankato; sister-in-law, Marcia (Albert) Thomas of Butler, PA; ten nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
