Kathleen Lois Kea, age 66, of Mankato, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato.

Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. No services are planned. Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Kathleen Kea was born September 5th, 1946, in Georgia to Clement and Dorothy Kea. She served in the US Army, up until her discharge. She had attended several colleges and received masters in Women Studies and English. She was very eager to continue her education throughout her life. After the army, Kathy settled down in Mankato where she worked at The Green Giant Company in Le Sueur. She then worked as a Direct Support Staff, where after she retired. In her free time, she liked to read, write, and visit with her family and friends.
Kathy is survived by her father, Clement Kea of Redwood Falls; sister Susan Morris of Redwood Falls; brother Paul (Glenda) Kea of Mesquite, Texas; Carolyn Little of St Paul; William Kea of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Fred (Donna) Kea of Sanborn. She is also survived by her nephew, David (Allie) Kea of Cedar Rapids IA, by her close friend of several years, Brandi Friedrichs of Mankato and her great-nephews and nieces, Bayley, Logan and Gracie, whom meant a lot to her, and other great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Kea, grandmother, grandfathers, aunt and uncles.
