Harriet Krosch, age 86, of Mankato, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sunrise Cottage in Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW Chapel, with Rev. Monte Meyer officiating. A private family burial will take place before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Arthritis Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, or an organization of the donor's choice.
Harriet Grace Krosch was born January 8, 1925 in Duluth to Harry and Alice (Cleveland) Seitz. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1943. On June 16, 1943 she married Ervin Krosch in Duluth. Harriet was employed as a receptionist at a dental office, worked for the Peace Corps, and for Sight Savers, all in Hemet, CA, where she and Ervin resided for 30 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. In Hemet, CA, she was member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Lioness Club. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and other needlework, and was an excellent cook. Harriet believed all of her children were her favorite.
Harriet is survived by 5 daughters, Susan (Stan) Johnson of Blue Earth, Deborah (Wayne) Hohenstein of Vernon Center, Leslie (Bruce) McCormack of Springtown, TX, Rebecca Fox of Middleton, WI, Rachel (Dean) Depuydt of Eagle Lake; son, Kevin (Kathryn) Krosch of rural Good Thunder; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers-in-law, Orville (Loretta) Krosch of Good Thunder, Coe Hamling of Roswell, GA; 5 step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; special family member, Carol Krosch; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; sons-in-law, Larry Peterson and Robert Fox.
