Harold Francis Phillips, age 92 of Mankato, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the service time at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born on May 3, 1915 in rural St. Clair to Harry E. and Lucy (Hodapp) Phillips. He was a graduate of St. Clair High School and attended Mankato Teachers College. Harold was united in marriage to Vera Menton on October 27, 1937 in St. Clair. He was a life-long dairy farmer south of St. Clair and retired in 1982. Harold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Holstein Testing Association. He enjoyed his time spent farming and visiting with family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Vera; two children, Sharon Erickson of Mankato and Blaine (Renee) Phillips of rural St. Clair; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Tim) Halldin of Lake Jefferson, Craig Hilgers of Minneapolis, Bradley Phillips of Bloomington, Troy Phillips, and Joleen Phillips both of rural St. Clair; four great-grandchildren, Parker, Breonna, Cody, and Noah; one brother, Lester (Ruth) Phillips of Fallbrook, CA; one sister, Genevieve Lynch of rural St. Clair; also nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant granddaughter; four brothers; one sister; and one son-in-law, Roger Hilgers.
