David B. Krause, age 87 of North Mankato, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Immanuel " St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2007 at Evangelical Covenant Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Kevin Melin officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday at the Mountain Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5"8 p.m., Thursday (TODAY) at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to Alaska Christian College, Gideons, and Kids Against Hunger.
David was born February 2, 1920 to Peter and Mary (Buller) Krause in Henderson, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Wilma Franz on December 21, 1943 in Mountain Lake, MN. They farmed in the Mountain Lake area until 1971 before moving to North Mankato where they owned and operated a ServiceMaster cleaning service. David worked part-time for District 77 in the janitorial services.
He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church in North Mankato and Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. David was a member of the Gideons, Friendship Builders, and volunteered his time with Kids Against Hunger. He enjoyed reading, fixing things, puzzles, latch hook, walking, biking, fishing, and his family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Wilma of North Mankato; four children, Richard (Fay) Krause of North Mankato, Gordon (Lori) Krause of Mountain Lake, Mary (Dave) Wilson of Omaha, NE, and Diane (Jim) Meyers of North Mankato; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Sarah Regher of Windom, Marie Callendar of Arizona, and Tina (John) Duerksen of Mountain Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, four brothers and one sister.
