Gladys Davis, age 88 of Mankato died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at her home due to cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 21 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mankato, Rev. Keith Siverly officiating. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery following the funeral. Memorials may be given to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, or to an organization of the donors choice.
Gladys was born near Mankato April 27, 1919 to William and Minnie (Tuberg) Heiser. She attended Kerns school. Gladys married Willard Davis November 29, 1939. Willard and Gladys farmed near Lake Crystal until 1954 and then west of North Mankato. After retirement they lived in Nicollet, then near Eagle Lake and finally in Mankato. She loved her family, cooking, sewing and gardening. Even though she did not drink coffee the coffeepot was always on with a choice of desserts for company.
Gladys is survived by one son Dennis and his wife Pamela of Mankato, grandson Brent and his wife Crystal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a niece Marcella Black of Mankato, a nephew Ronald Heiser (Sally) Mesa, Arizona and several grand nieces and nephews. Her husband, Willard and brother Donald preceded Gladys in death.
