Wendell Edward Stark, age 76, of Elysian and formerly of North Mankato, Burnsville, Edina, MN, and Webb Lake, WI, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake with Rev. Robert Schneider, officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at North Mankato Mortuary-NORTHVIEW. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Elysian Library or All Saints Catholic Church Kitchen Renovation.

Wendell was born June 9, 1934 to Daney Edward and Eva Caroline (Thornton) Stark in Darfur, MN. In 1952, he graduated from Comfrey High School. Wendell served his country with the U.S. Army from January of 1954 until November of 1955 during the Korean Conflict, serving in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he graduated from Mankato Business College. On June 22, 1957, Wendell was united in marriage to Donna Theresa Berberich at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. Wendell was the Internal Auditor at Hubbard Milling Company in Mankato. He then worked at Computer Graphics in Mankato. Wendell and Donna moved to Burnsville starting a new division in Minneapolis called MGA Graphics. They merged with Miner Group which is where he retired in 1997. Wendell and Donna moved to their lake home in Webb Lake, WI. In 2000, Wendell became a tax preparer for H & R Block and continued with them in Mankato until the time of his death. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church with the church choir and the financial board, sang with the St. Peter Chorale Society, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Wendell was a past member of Holy Rosary Men's Choir and Sacred Heart of Webb Lake Choir. His talent and time was given in singing at many of his family's functions. Wendell enjoyed woodworking, boating, snowmobiling, traveling, spending time with grandchildren, was a car enthusiast, and enjoyed entertaining family at their homes.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Donna of Elysian; daughter, Kelly (Michael) Kauss of Elysian; son, Chuck Stark of Eau Claire, WI and children: Ellie, Lexy, and Tony; son, John (Roxanne) Stark of St. Anthony Village and their children: Anna, Joe, and Marty; son, Gordy (Laurie) Stark of Champlin and their children: Adam, Trevor, and Callie; siblings: Celesta Hagg of Marshall, Donnabelle Seavert of Royal, IA, Elaine Jorgenson of St. James, Anita Carlson of Byron, Harlie (Carol) Stark of Darfur, and Caroline (Ron) Finstad of St. James; and many extended family.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Velda Englin and Betty Rathman.
