Dan L. Claude, age 59, of Mapleton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held 2-5 p.m. on Saturday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to service at the church on Sunday. Burial will be held at Rice Lake Cemetery in rural Delavan.
Dan was born on November 28, 1951, to Marvin and Annabelle (Lloyd) Claude in Blue Earth, MN. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1969 and then from Mankato Area VoTech. Dan was united in marriage to Gayle Wallace in Blue Earth on July 11, 1970. He was briefly employed by Kato Engineering before working for Hiniker Company for 40 years. Dan was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Lura Lake Aeration Association, and the Bow Bender's Archery Club. He enjoyed bow-hunting, fishing, making lures, fixing things, and was always there to help anyone in need.
Dan is survived by his wife, Gayle of Mapleton; two sons, Chuck (Julie) Claude of Mankato and Jeremiah Claude of North Mankato; one daughter, Lori (Bill) Dietrich of Mankato; three grandchildren, Austin, Spencer, Kayleah; mother, Annabelle (Marv) Nelson of Wells; one brother, Kenny (Cherie) Claude of Delavan; one sister-in-law, Sharon Claude of Rochester; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and his dogs, Rusty and Levi.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Marvin; brother, Larry and sister-in-law, Norita Claude.
