Michael James Struck, age 39, of Cleveland died tragically Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Rev. Dennis Backer, Rev. Cory Rohlfing and Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " Northview in North Mankato. There will be no visitation before the church service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given for his children, Kaylee and Gavin's, education fund at the Nicollet County Bank in St. Peter.
Mike was born on November 7, 1971, to Jim and Denise (Dauk) Struck in Mankato. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1990 and attended and graduated from Albert Lea Technical College as a Construction Electrician. Mike currently worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Mankato as a Transportation Generalist and took pride in representing Mn/DOT and ensuring the safety of the traveling public. On June 22, 2002, he was united in marriage to Amber Baker. Mike's first and foremost devotion was being a dedicated husband and father. He had a passion for helping others whether it was being a long-time Fireman and First Responder with the Cleveland Fire Department or donating blood and plasma. Mike enjoyed farming, deer hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, watching the MN Wild and Twins, yard work, vehicle maintenance and most importantly family activities. His contagious smile and warm heart will be sadly missed by many who knew him as "Windy."
Mike is survived by his wife, Amber (Baker) Struck; daughter Kaylee and son Gavin; parents, Jim and Denise Struck of Cleveland; siblings: Christy (Patrick) Leopold of Hudson, WI, Jill Struck of Eden Prairie and sister-in-law, Amy Struck of Shoreview, MN; favorite uncle to Olivia Struck; maternal grandmother, Ann Dauk of Cleveland; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Lorraine Struck of Cleveland; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Struck; grandfather, Jerome Dauk; aunt, Geralyn McCarthy; and cousin, Joe Bedford.
