Warren H. Burmeister, age 89 of North Mankato, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Oak Terrace, North Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church on Monday. Burial will be held at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Warren was born July 29, 1921 to August and Alice "Alma" (Tolzman) Burmeister in Waldorf, MN. He joined the United States Army February 20, 1943. Warren was united in marriage to Delilah Tolzmann on October 15, 1946 in North Mankato, MN. He was employed at O. W. Burmeister Hardware Store in Waldorf working as a service person with appliances, plumbing and heating in the Waldorf community and surrounding area. He also drove a school bus for the Waldorf, Pemberton School System for over 30 years. Warren was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, sightseeing on road trips and fixing anything that was broken.

Warren is survived by his wife of 64 years, Delilah; children, Janice Middlestadt of St. Cloud, MN; Linda (Loren) Larson of Buffalo, MN; Gary (Patty) Burmeister of Waldorf, MN; Randy (Sandy) Burmeister of Grand Forks, ND; Debbie (Brian) Schultz of North Mankato, MN; DeAnn (Donald) Swank of North Mankato, MN; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Martin Burmeister of Minnesota Lake, MN; two sisters-in-law, Florence and Hilda, and many nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, August and Alice, six brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law, Bill Middlestadt.
