Marjorie Jean "Midge" Kennedy, age 77 of Mankato and formerly of Blue Earth, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Immanuel " St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN. Visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m., Friday at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Alzheimer Association or the donor's choice.

Midge was born May 31, 1933 to Paul and Genevieve (McLaughlin) Downing in Blue Earth Minnesota. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1951. She graduated from the St. Mary's Nursing Academy in Rochester. Midge was married to Richard "Dick" Kennedy on Dec. 31, 1953, they later separated.

Midge started her working career as a nurse at Mankato Clinic and later was one the first woman pharmaceuticals representatives for Hoechst Celanese in southern Minnesota. She retired after 20 successful years. Midge enjoyed shopping, travel to many foreign countries, dogs, birds and giving to her charities.

She is survived by her six sons, Shawn (Kim) of New Ulm, Patrick (Linda) of Grey Eagle, Michael of Cambodia, Asia, Daniel (Penny) of Mankato, Kevin (Holly) Rapid City, SD, Martin (Jill) of North Mankato; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John "Jack" Downing.
