Ian James Van Wyk went into the arms of Jesus on March 4th, 2011. Ian was born on January 25th, 2011 to Jerry and Anne Van Wyk of North Mankato. He was dearly loved by his parents, brothers, Drew and Graham and his sister, Julia. As a family, they enjoyed special moments together and will cherish those shared times.
Ian was true to the meaning of his name, "God's Gracious Gift". He brought much joy to his family and touched the hearts of many. Ian fought courageously against a rare genetic condition.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Jerry and Anne Van Wyk; brothers, Drew and Graham, and sister, Julia; grandparents, Gert Van Wyk, James & Nancy Rundquist, Connee Rundquist; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. Ian was greeted in heaven by his brother, Reid, grandfather, Dennis Van Wyk and great-grandparents.
The family is very thankful for the wonderful care Ian received at Minneapolis Children's Hospital, Mankato Clinic, and the ISJ emergency room.
Visitation will be held at the North Mankato Mortuary-NORTHVIEW on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5 " 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 1PM with visitation available one hour before.
