Margaret Behnke, age 85 of North Mankato, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Immanuel " St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will also be one hour before the service on Friday at the Church. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church.

Margaret was born July 17, 1925 to August and Minnie (Kunz) Fischer in Sterling Township, Blue Earth Co., MN. She was united in marriage to Wayne A. Behnke on October 11, 1944 in Mapleton, MN. She was a farmwife for her family, helping not only with homemaker duties, but with chores and fieldwork. Margaret was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid in Good Thunder.

Margaret enjoyed bowling, playing cards, birds, gardening, and fishing.

She is survived by her son, Royce (Donna) Behnke of North Mankato; daughter, Sharon (David) Pinska of Woodbury, MN; three grandchildren, Heath (Sherry) Behnke of Mankato, Bret (Alisha) Behnke of Good Thunder, Heather Behnke of St. Peter, MN; four great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne; daughter-in-law, Vickie; one brother and four sisters.
