Helen Mae Remme, age 86, of North Mankato, MN and formerly of Sierra Vista, AZ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2011 surrounded by her loving family in North Mankato.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW, with Rev. Jim Ahlquist officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Additional services and burial will be held this summer in Drayton, N.D.

Helen was born on January 28, 1925 in Drayton, N.D. to Ervin and Anna (Nelson) Schumacher. She graduated from school in Drayton. Helen was united in marriage to Myron Remme on January 12, 1947 in Moorhead, MN. She owned and operated several businesses in the Grand Forks, N.D. area, including a cosmetology school and beauty shops. Helen was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sierra Vista, AZ and also several other organizations. She enjoyed ceramics, crafts, crocheting, gardening and flowers.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Keith) Boleen of North Mankato, MN; son, Guy (Marilyn) Remme of Grand Forks, N.D.; five grandchildren, Ryan (Lori) Boleen, Meredith (Rob) Martin, Christopher Remme, Nathan Remme, and Summer (Matt) Thomas; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Nelson of Grand Forks, N.D. and Verna Welk of Sierra Vista, AZ; two brothers, John (Joan) Schumacher of Drayton, N.D. and Lee (Kathy) Schumacher of Sierra Vista, AZ; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron in 2002; brother, Harvey; and brother-in-law, Bill Nelson.
