Loraine (Doss) Anderson, age 87, of Eagle Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, 507-388-2288 and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday. Burial will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery, Eagle Lake.
Loraine was born in a farm house on the prairie in Brookings County, White, South Dakota on July 1, 1923, to Christ and Mable (Friday) Doss and was also baptized there. Her family moved to Alma City, MN during the depression in 1933.
She married Harvey Anderson, Jr. on August 27, 1946, in Seattle, WA. She was a beloved and devoted wife who deeply loved her family. She was also Harvey's helpmate in his construction business. Loraine was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Smiths Mill, and served as Sunday school teacher and member and past president of the Dorcas Society. She also served as president of the Eagle Lake American Legion Auxiliary and president of the Blue Earth County American Legion Auxiliary.
Loraine enjoyed time spent with family and especially the grandchildren, great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, crocheting, reading, and gardening.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 64 " years, Harvey; her children, Linda Morrison of San Ramon, CA, Nancy (Steve) Bestmann of Grove, OK, Alan (Teresa) Anderson of Eagle Lake, MN, Peggy (Mike) O'Herin of Jay, OK, Scott (Denise) Anderson of Sartell, MN, Pat (Linnette) Anderson of Madison Lake, MN, Jan (David) Gartner of Chatfield, MN, and John Anderson of Grove, OK; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Ed Doss, Dallas Doss, and Darrel (Cheryl) Doss; sister, Lois Jewison; brother-in-law, Wallace Stelter; and sister-in-law Pam Doss.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Korey Anderson; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and other beloved family members.
