Robert J. "Bob" Simmonds, age 84, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
A private memorial service will be held. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Bob was born on January 14, 1927 in Mankato to George and Bessie (Wilkinson) Simmonds. He lived in North Mankato and Mankato his entire life. Following graduation Bob was employed by District 77 as a school bus driver and custodian until retirement in 1987. In 1972 he married Donna H. Nelson.
Bob is survived by his sister-in-law, Alice Simmonds; nephews, Michael and Thomas; and others who were important to Bob including Kathryn (Paul) Durenberger, William Nelson, and Richard Nelson.
