Elmer Frederick Truebenbach, age 88, of Mankato died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Mankato with Rev. David Danner, officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be from 12 " 2 p.m. Tuesday at church. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Elmer was born April 12, 1918 to August and Esther A. (Hoffman) Truebenbach in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County. He was united in marriage to Gladys Duden on August 29, 1941 in Lake City, Minnesota. Elmer farmed in Decoria Township until 1960 and then was employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation until he retired in 1983. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Elmer enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, restoring Ford tractors, and spending time with his family.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Gladys of rural Mankato; son, Wesley Truebenbach and wife, Tammy of rural Faribault; daughter, Diane Lloyd and husband, Jim of rural Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Myra Hlavacek and husband, Denny of Victoria; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Eugene; parents, August and Esther; brother, LeRoy; two sisters, Margaret and Mildred.
