Berton Brude

Berton Harold Brude, age 75, of rural Mankato, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rapidan. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Berton was born on March 9, 1931 in South Bend Township. He was the son of John and Myrtle (Erickson) Brude. Berton was a graduate of Rapidan High School and attended Veterans Agriculture after serving in the U.S. Army. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He was united in marriage to Doris (Mathistad) Eekhoff on November 13, 1982 in Rapidan. Berton spent his life farming in rural Mankato. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan.

Berton is survived by his wife, Doris of rural Mankato; three stepchildren, Lori Ganske of Good Thunder, Brian Eekhoff of Mankato, and Brett Eekhoff of Mankato; four step grandchildren, Hannah and Alec Ganske, Lindsey Eekhoff and Madison Eekhoff; one brother, Paul (Harriett) Brude of rural Rapidan; also six nieces and nephews.
