Avis Darlene Moon, age 67, of Lake Crystal, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers, officiating. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
Avis was born on September 18, 1937 to Melville and Rhoda (Skobba) Frisvold in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Alden Al Moon on April 14, 1956. They made their home together in Lake Crystal. She was employed at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for over 35 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, music, gambling, reading, collecting porcelain dolls, and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Max.
Avis is survived by her five children, Cary (Dianne) Howerton of Mankato, Marty (Lori) Moon of Lake Crystal, Glen Moon and special friend, Arias McBeth of New Ulm, Gail Riewe and special friend, Dean Anderson of St. James, Scott (Gwen) Moon of Lake Crystal; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Urban of Aurora, Melda (Duane) Burnett of Lake Crystal, Phyllis (Leo) Splinter of Rapid City, S.D.; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Avis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al on December 28, 1984; two sisters, Norma Jacobson and Donna Honken.
