Margaret A. Peg (Manske) Laven, age 66, of Madison Lake, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Marysburg Catholic Church in rural Madison Lake, with Rev. Syl Brown officiating. Burial will be in Calvary All Saints Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Immanuel St. Josephs Hospice Program. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Peg was born on May 16, 1940 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Dunn) Manske. Peg was a 1958 graduate of Mankato High School. She also attended one year of business school. Peg was united in marriage to Robert Laven on August 19, 1961 at Marysburg Catholic Church. She was employed as a bookkeeper with First National Bank in Mankato. Peg mowed the grass at Calvary All Saints Cemetery for many years. Her hobbies included being outdoors, hunting and fishing, playing cards, and sports, especially Twins baseball and Vikings football.
Peg is survived by her husband, Robert Laven of Madison Lake; mother, Anna Manske of Madison Lake; brother, Bill (Linda) Manske of Montrose, CO; two nephews, Eric Manske of Austin, TX and Mark Manske of Fargo, ND; two brothers-in-law, William Laven of Mankato and Pete (Marilyn) Laven of Storm Lake, IA; two sisters-in-law, Katie Roozen of Owatonna and Patricia (Warren) Preston of Concord, NH; also cousins and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1988.
