Eileen Ann Adams, age 87, of Mankato died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Steve Adams and Rev. Richard Colletti officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, St. Clair. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.
Eileen was born on January 8, 1919 in Madelia, Minnesota to Nicholas and Mary (Keppers) Adams. She grew up on a farm south of Pemberton where she was the second youngest of nine children. Her first job was working at a bank in St. Clair. During WW II, Eileen moved out to Los Angeles, where she worked at a bank at Hollywood and Vine. IN 1942, she joined the Navy Waves and after her training was stationed at a naval base in Corpus Christi, TX where she did secretarial work. After her military service, Eileen moved back to Los Angeles to work at the bank, and was eventually transferred to San Francisco where she retired in 1981. She moved back to Minnesota in September of 1995 and lived in Minnesota Lake and in 1998 she moved to Mankato. Eileen was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Mankato. Eileen enjoyed bowling, going on walks, her nieces, nephews and their children, theatre, ballet, reading, playing cards, and socializing.
Eileen is survived by her brother, Larry Adams and his wife, Peggy of Potomac, Maryland; sister-in-law, Lorna Adams of Minnesota Lake; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and four brothers.
