Doris Anderson, age 89 of Mankato died Monday, June 12, 2006 at Oak Lawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Doris was born on July 13, 1916 in Klemme, Iowa to Charlie and Antonette (Lenz) Yahnke. She graduated from Garden City High School and the University of Minnesota where she received a Masters Degree. She was united in marriage to Elmer Anderson at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She was employed by the University of Minnesota as a home economist. Doris was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia, MN. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework, collecting bells and arts and crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Paul) Anderson of Minneapolis; brother, Dale (Helen) Yahnke of Lake Crystal; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Elmer in 1977.
