Byrdene I. Schulz, age 75, of Lake Crystal died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.
A Private service was held. Burial in Lake Crystal Cemetery, Lake Crystal. Lake Crystal Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Byrdene was born on June 12, 1930 to Marvin and Esther (Davis) Jensen in Butternut, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She shared her birthday with her father, Marvin Jensen, who also was born on June 12. She attended school at District #144 and Four Corners School, Judson Township, Blue Earth County and later graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1948. She married Richard Frank Schulz on November 14, 1948 at the Garden City Christian Church parsonage by Rev. Clyde Leeds. They built a home in Lake Crystal and lived there all of their married lives. She had been employed at Stokely Van Camp in Winnebago for a few years, Photo Associates in Mankato, the Gambles Store in Lake Crystal, and the Cat n Fiddle Supper Club near New Ulm. Byrdene was a member of the Garden City Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, painting, crocheting, reading, cats (especially black ones), and doing puzzles of all kinds.
Byrdene is survived by one daughter, Christine Schulz of Lake Crystal and many cousins.
Byrdene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard, who died in 1996.
