Mary Ann Holsen, age 69, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Mankato House Health Care Center.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Meierding, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery, Windom. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Friday. Memorials may be given to National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Mary was born June 23, 1936 to Emil and Elsie (Kuehl) Ihrke in Springfield Township, Cottonwood County. Mary was baptized and confirmed at Amo Methodist Church, rural Windom. Mary graduated from Windom High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to John F. Holsen on October 26, 1985 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato. Mary had been employed with Campbell Soup Company in Windom and with ISJ Hospital for over 20 years before her retirement. Mary was active with 4-H in her youth. She enjoyed attending Mankato Symphony concerts, summer band concerts, rummage sales, Mankato Farmers Market, cooking and baking, being around and visiting with her friends and her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, John of North Mankato; step-daughter, Deb Lange of Rochester; six siblings, Richard (Margie) Ihrke of Cottage Grove, Carolyn (William Eigenberg of Heron Lake, Clarice (David) Vennix of Bloomington, Sharmen (Rusty) Christopherson of Courtland, Michael (Sue Ann) Ihrke of Prior Lake, and Leatrice Scott of Winnipeg, Canada; uncle, Everett Kuehl of Windom; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
