Dorothy Lentz, age 93, of Mankato died May 15, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato with Rev. Gary Wong, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4"7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
Dorothy was born on December 21, 1912 to Hugh and Julia (Shaw) Lewis in Butternut Valley Township. She married Don Heiser on March 8, 1933 in Lake Crystal. They were later divorced. On December 20, 1946 she married Glenn Lentz in Mankato. Through the years Dorothy was employed by Kit Kat and Muellers Grocery Store. She was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Marcella Black of Mankato, and Ronald (Sally) Heiser of Mesa, AZ; six grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Alvera Anonson of Stillwater, Lorraine Backus of Albert Lea, and Frances Spielman of Shakopee; mother-in-law, Mabel Tosch of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; her parents; son, Tom Lentz in 2002; sister, Ethel Lickfett; brother, Harlan Lewis; and two son-in-laws, Richard Pomerenke, and Donald Black.
