Magda Fischer, age 97 of Mankato and formerly of rural Good Thunder, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Good Thunder. Visitation will be held one hour before services on Tuesday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Magda Fischer was born December 7, 1908 to Paul and Margartha (Hoeft) Speck in Good Thunder. She was united in marriage to Alfred Fischer on August 31, 1926 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Magda enjoyed baking, gardening, playing cards and house plants.
She is survived by a niece, Betty (Stacy) Mace of Mankato; nephews, Harry Petrowske and special friend, Dee Winkler of Good Thunder, Jerome (Barbara) Petrowske of Willmar; and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband in 1993; sister, Lucile Petrowske, and brother, George Speck.
