Donald H. Quame, age 65, of Mankato, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2006 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. John Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Donald was born on February 19, 1941 in Buffalo Center, IA. He was the son of LeRoy and Hazel (Hanson) Quame. Donald was a 1959 graduate of Rake High School in Rake, IA. He attended Luther College in Decorah, IA and also Mankato State University. Donald was united in marriage to Jeneane Schock on August 19, 1961 in Blue Earth. He was employed with Werner Electric (formerly S.M. Supply and Northland Electric) and retired after 45 years of service. Donald was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, the Mankato Moose Lodge, Pheasants Forever, and the MN Electrical Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandsons play ball, hunting, fishing, camping, grilling outdoors, doing yard work, washing and waxing his camper and cars, and following East High School Athletics.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jeneane of Mankato; one daughter, Rev. Dawn Quame of Akron, IA; one son, Daniel Quame and his wife, Sue of Eagle Lake; two grandsons, Derek and Drew Quame; one sister, Carolyn Quame of Denver, CO; also Jeneanes family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
