Lenore Longnecker

Mankato, MN " Lenore V. Longnecker, age 98, of Mankato died Thursday evening, March 23, 2006 at Mankato Lutheran Home.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Mankato Lutheran Home, with Pastor Jerry David, officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family immediately following the service. Burial will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Lenore was born August 22, 1907 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Lyda (Dodge) and Albert Vaughn. She attended East High School in Waterloo, Iowa. On August 22, 1929, she was united in marriage to Karl Longnecker. They made their home in Boone, Iowa and raised two wonderful sons, John and William. The lived in Mankato, MN, returned to Belle Plaine, IA and later moved to Marshalltown, IA, where they had lived for over 20 years. In 1993, they returned to Mankato. On January 29, 1996, Karl died. Lenore continued living in Mankato and had recently moved to Mankato Lutheran Home.

Lenore is survived by two sons and their wives, John M. and Doris Longnecker of Pequot Lake, MN, William K. and Helen Longnecker of West End, NC; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; one brother; three sisters.
