Marion Lavonne Severson, age 87, of Mankato, died Wednesday March 22, 2006 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Neal Wilkinson, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary with a 4 p.m. rosary service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
Marion was born on September 12, 1918 to Louis and Adelaide (Von Essen) LaDue in Verdi, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Paul L. Severson on August 6, 1945 at St. Annes Catholic Church in LeSueur, Minnesota. She was a telephone operator in LeSueur during WWII. Over the years she also worked at Continental Can, Goldfines, and Bretts Department Store as a seamstress.
Marion was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church for over fifty years, the Mission Club and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed sewing for her family and participating in the Bon Bon Clown Club of LeCenter.
She is survived by two sons, Paul M (Susan) Severson of Sleepy Eye, and Jim Severson of Bloomington; two daughters, Christine (Kim) Nordwall and Beth McCabe both of Mankato; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Anderson of Boulder, CO, Betty (Ray) Seiler of Arcadia, WI, Bonnie (Tony) Wieland of LeCenter; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1999; son, Gregory; infant son; granddaughter, Kimberly; great-granddaughter, Alexis; brother, William LaDue; and two sisters, Dorothy Tousley, and Patsy Peitz.
