Harold E Franz

Harold Edward Franz, age 96 of North Mankato, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Mankato with Rev. David Danner officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.

Harold Franz was born August 7, 1909 to Theodore and Lulu (Marble) Franz in Decoria Township, Blue Earth Co. Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Esther Pasbrig on September 7, 1932 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. Harold was a lifetime farmer in Decoria Township. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Mankato Eagles Club. Harold was a former member of the Mankato Moose Lodge.

Harold enjoyed spending many summers at his lake home on Leech Lake in northern Minnesota and winters in Apache Junction, AZ. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one daughter, LaVonne (Clyde) Lundholm of North Mankato; daughter-in-law, Betty Franz of Grimes, IA; six grandchildren, Dawn (Joel) Meyer, Corey (Carmen) Lundholm, Doug (Michelle) Franz, Natalie Franz, Tony Franz, and Tammy Franz; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Lorraine Just.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Esther in 1987; two sons, Marvin and Duane; granddaughter, Lori ONeil; two brothers, Ted and Herb.
