Carey Alan Starrett

Carey Alan Starrett, age 48, of Mankato, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at his home.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. James Roe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date.

Carey was born on September 9, 1957 to James and Jeannie (Wandersee) Starrett in Mankato, Minnesota. He married Cheryl Craig on February 9, 1996 in Bloomington, Minnesota. Carey worked as a union cement finisher for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Starrett of Mankato; daughter, Cassandra of Mankato; step-son, Joshua Craig of Minneapolis; mother, Jeannie Pipes of Springfield; father, James (Phyllis) Starrett of Mankato; brothers, Dan (Wendy) Starrett of Kasota, and Steve (Ann) Starrett of Mankato, sisters, Melissa (Dan) Lang of Springfield, and Sheila (Greg) Nessett of Sleepy Eye; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Michelle in 1993; and step-father Bob Pipes.
