Marlys Lenora McCullough, age 85, of Mankato, died Monday morning, March 6, 2006 at Oaklawn Health Care Center.
Memorial service 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness in North Mankato, with Mr. Armond Lundholm officiating. Private family burial in Brown Cemetery, Henderson. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Marlys was born March 29, 1920 at Milford, Iowa to Albert and Flossie (Pippert) Schubert. She and her family moved to Taopi, Minnesota in 1938 where she married Edward McCullough. They lived in various locations in southern Minnesota but made Mankato her home in 1966. She worked at Paper Box Corporation for 22 years retiring in 1987.
In the fall of 1963 Marlys was baptized as one of Jehovahs witness, and has been a very active and devoted worshipper of Jehovah God ever since. Marlys was also a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who had many loyal friends in the Mankato area. She was an avid bird watcher and knew every species of bird and their songs by heart. Marlys enjoyed traveling throughout North America with her kids. Marlys will be missed dearly by all.
Marlys is survived by four children, Delores (Ralph) Furst of Mankato, Howard (Jacqueline) McCullough of Lewistown, MT, Donald (Denise) McCullough of Henderson, Mary Jean (Jim) Ness of Mankato; three sisters, Dorothy Culbert of LeSueur, Joyce (LeRoy) Buck, Shirley Mediger all of Henderson; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966 and her parents.
