Dorothea Hruby

Dorothea Ruby Theresia (Beise) Hruby, age 91, of Mankato, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Mankato House Health Care Center.

Funeral service will held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Dorothea was born to Ewald and Theresia (Kain) Beise in Medo Township in Blue Earth County on January 10, 1915. In 1920, the family moved to Mankato, where she attended Immanuel Lutheran and Mankato public schools. Dorothea married Joseph Joe Hruby in 1939.

Dorothea worked at S.S.Kreskes and for 32 years at H.L.Green, which changed to McCory Corporation. She enjoyed gardening, making crafts, crocheting, baking, reading, and volunteering at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was a member.

Dorothea is survived by her loving daughter, Joanne Potz and husband, Richard of Chanhassen; three grandchildren, Stephen Potz and wife, Laurie of Crystal, Deborah Huberty and husband, Jeff of Ramsey, Christine Cassellius and husband, Chris of Eagan; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Stephen Potz and Nicole Thea Cassellius; three siblings, Marvin Beise and wife, Dolores of Hastings, Gretchen Dahling and husband, Adolph of Red Wing, Ella Wright and husband, Harry of San Pablo, CA; sister-in-law, Marion Beise of Shoreview; brother-in-law, LaRoy Buck Brenke of Jordan; many nieces and nephews. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three sisters.
