Irma A Miescke

Irma Anna Miescke, age 96, formerly of Longmont, CO, and Rapidan, MN, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Alpine Nursing Center in Thornton, CO.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rapidan, with Rev. Monte Meyer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Rapidan. Mankato Mortuary is handling local arrangements. A funeral service will also be held Monday, February 20, 2006 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, CO.

Irma was born October 13, 1909 in Good Thunder, Minnesota to Herman Diedrich and Anna E. (Bartsch) Hausburg. She married Carl Miescke on December 14, 1934 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rapidan. Irma moved to Colorado in 1987 and to Longmont, CO in 1995. Irma was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont, 4-H, Ladies Aid of Rapidan and the Lutheran Womens Missionary League. Irma enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and walking.

Irma is survived by three daughters, Leora (Richard) Becker of Broomfield, CO, Betty (Neal) Frederick of Arcadia, CA, and Neva Lund of Sheboygan Falls, WI; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Miescke in April 1965, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
