Ruth D Ewalt

Ruth D. Ewalt, age 91, of Mankato, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Donohue Sarff and Rev. John Petersen officiating. There will be time to visit with her family following the service. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato Lutheran Home, Masonic Cancer Hospital, or the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.

Ruth was born on May 1, 1914 in Mankato. She was the daughter of John V. and Flora (Brockmeyer) Steiner. Ruth was united in marriage to Joseph S. Ewalt on September 1, 1935 in Mankato. She was a homemaker for her family. Ruth was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital for over 50 years.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Peter Talley of Baltimore, MD and Deborah and James Hughes of St. Peter; four grandchildren, Cristin Talley and husband, Eduardo Valerio of Baltimore, MD, Joshua Talley and wife, Erin of Baltimore, MD, Amanda (Hughes) MacGregor and husband, Matthew of St. Peter, and Ryan Hughes and special friend, Lauren Bromander of Minneapolis; three great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jesse, and Julia.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 1999 and a brother.
