Linda Jo (Adams) Richards, age 53 of Dana Point, CA, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, CA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato with Reverend Steven Kosberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the church before the service from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Linda Jo was born on April 14, 1952, in Mankato, MN to Thomas S. and Constance (Fox) Adams. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1971. She was united in marriage with Thomas S. Richards at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato on April 30, 1977. Linda and Tom made their home in Dana Point, CA. Linda worked for the Orange County School System in the field of Special Education. For several years Linda also enjoyed coaching Special Olympics. She dearly loved the special needs children she worked with. She referred to them as "God's special angels." Linda and Tom opened their home to one of those special angels, Grant, who spent several years with them. Linda also spent as much time as she could with her many nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud. Linda loved the home she and Tom made together and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends there often. She also taught Sunday School at her church.
Linda is survived by her husband Thomas; her parents Thomas and Constance Adams of North Mankato; brothers Douglas and wife Stephanie of Mankato, Reverend Daniel and wife Debra of Vancouver, WA, and David and wife Caron of Chandler, AZ; mother-in-law Madeline Richards of Irvine, CA; brother-in-law Tim Richards and wife Karen of Tustin, CA; uncle John (Jack) W. Adams and wife Eloise of Albert Lea; Anna (Ziegler) Legg and Paul Ziegler to whom she was like an older sister; and her many nieces and nephews who brought her so much joy. Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents and Grant who was like a son.
Linda Jo loved her Lord, her family and her many friends. She touched so many lives with her smile, open embrace and love. She will be deeply missed.
