Edith Mae Thomas

Edith M. Thomas, age 93, of Lake Crystal, died Monday, January 30, 2006 at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Private family burial service will be held in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Lake Crystal Mortuary handling arrangements.

Edith was born November 11, 1912 to Herbert Oliver and Jennie (Lee) Evans in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County. After graduation from New Ulm High School, Edith attended Mankato Normal School. On October 19, 1935, she married Joseph T. Thomas in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County. She was a homemaker for her family and helped on the family farm. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Salem Sunshine Club. Edith enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, baking, and cooking.

Edith is survived by three daughters, Jean Miner and her husband, Jim of Rochester, Mary Lou Olson and her husband, Leroy of Lake Crystal, and Barb Gatchell and her husband, Ernie of Courtland; four grandchildren, Jodi Yates and her husband, Ray of Rochester, Kim Miner of Rochester, Laurie Olson of New Ulm and Christopher Olson of Lake Crystal; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, and Branden Yates; and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; son, Joseph Lowell; two brothers and two sisters.
