Sister M. Teresene Hageman, School Sister of Notre Dame, age 81, died January 2, 2006, at Good Counsel Convent, Mankato, Minnesota.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Good Counsel Chapel, with Fr. Karl Voelker, SJ, as celebrant. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Good Counsel, with Vespers in the chapel at 7:00 p.m. Visitation is also one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge.
Sister M. Teresene (Beatrice Hageman) was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on August 21, 1924, to Charles and Louise (Klapperich) Hageman. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mankato in 1942 and took First Vows in 1945. She was a teacher for 30 years in elementary schools in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Washington, followed by another 30 years at Good Counsel in tutoring and doing secretarial work. Over the years, she earned a B.A. in English from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, and an M.A. in Education"Guidance and Counseling from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa.
She is survived by two brothers, Will and Richard Hageman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Harold.
