Ruth A. Rorvig, age 72 of Mankato, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Congregational UCC in Mankato with Rev. Al Thompson officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church on Monday. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.
Ruth was born June 13, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio to Obed and Esther (Nelson) Westphal. She was a Madelia High School graduate. She was married to Robert Rorvig. Ruth was a counselor at ISJ Behavioral Health Center, member of United Church of Christ, and a resident of Old Main Village.
Ruth is survived by four children, Stephen (Connie) Rorvig of Madelia, Sheryl (Pam) Rorvig of Oakdale, Daniel (Kathy) Rorvig of Prior Lake, David (Becky) Rorvig of Goodhue; seven grandchildren, Tony, Matt, Jesse, Cheyanne, Gabriel, Jacob, and Kerrisa; a great-grandson, Caden; a brother, David Westphal; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Joanne, and husband, Robert.
Her humor, compassion, and generosity will be greatly missed.
