Archie Lee Kendall, age 85 of rural Garden City, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at First Baptist Church in Lake Crystal with Pastor Jon Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Garden City, Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Thursday (TODAY) at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
Archie Kendall was born December 20, 1920 to Fred and Rose (Dimick) Kendall in Garden City. He graduated from Garden City High School and attended the U of M. Archie served his country in the US Air Corp. during WWII in the European Theater where he earned the rank of 1st Lt. He was united in marriage to Ruth Davidson on August 28, 1943 in Monahans, TX. He farmed most of his life in the Garden City area. Archie enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, his dogs, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of rural Garden City; three children, Sharon Renner of Cambria, Archie Ed (Kay) Kendall of rural Mankato, Sandra (Clarence) Hall of rural Garden City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Asa (LaMerle) Kendall of Kasson, MN, Frank Kendall of Berwyn, IL; sister, Alice Hicks of Coon Rapids, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his son, great-grandson, four brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law.
