Lorene Ann Lyons, age 53, of Mankato died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at her home.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Barb Jackman, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service on Monday. Private family burial will be in Kerns Oak Grove Cemetery, Belgrade Township, North Mankato. Memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice Program.
Lorene was born May 8, 1952 to Fred H. and Olga A. (Lanz) Purrier in Mankato. She grew up in Norseland and Belgrade Township areas. Lorene graduated from Mankato High School in 1970. She was untied in marriage to Charles P. Lyons on November 6, 1971 in St. Peter. Lorene was employed as a cook for St. Peter High School, in the bakery at Gustavus Adolphus College, and most recently at ADC Tele-Communications in LeSueur. She enjoyed cooking and baking, fishing, reading, spending time at their lake property near Alexandria and time with her granddaughter, Montanna.
Lorene is survived by her husband, Charles of Mankato; three daughters, Jennifer (Dana) Michels of St. Peter, Melissa Lyons and her special friend Jeremy LaBeau and Christine (Tony) Pettit all of Lakeville; granddaughter, Montanna Michels; brother, Ronald (Lois) Purrier of North Mankato; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Frances Lyons of Cleveland; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Geraldine Gunderson, Duane Purrier, Garold Purrier, and Darlene Hansen.
