Mary Ellen Johnson, age 52, of North Mankato, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at her home.
Memorial service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, Norseland, with Rev. Jerry Lanes officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church and will continue one hour before services on Saturday. Memorials may be given to an organization of the donors choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born November 27, 1953 to Henry R. and Evelyn (Wilfahrt) Brown in New Ulm. She graduated from Cathedral High School, New Ulm in 1972. She was united in marriage to Neal Johnson on November 17, 1979 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Mary had been employed with Earls Drive Inn, Huevelman Accounting, J & R Schugel Trucking all of New Ulm and presently as an administrative assistant with District 77 in Mankato until her death. Mary was a member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, vice-president of her secretarial association, and a past 4-H leader. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stitch, and cooking.
Mary is survived by her husband, Neal; two sons, Nathaniel Johnson and special friend, Jessie Tengwall, and Michael Johnson all of North Mankato; three sisters, Margaret Barrett, Kathy (Bernie) Baune all of New Ulm, and Pat (Arnold) Goblirsch of Wabasso; two brothers, Paul E. (Grace Ann) Brown of North Mankato and Dennis (Mona) Brown of Lakefield; mother-in-law, Mae Johnson of Nicollet; brother-in-law, Alex Johnson of Nicollet; sister-in-law, Rita Gibbs of St. Peter; special friend, Kathy Goblirsch of New Ulm; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Brown; and her father-in-law, Arnold Johnson.
