Carol J. McCollum, age 62 of Janesville died Friday morning, January 6, 2006 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2006at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Rev. Daniel Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donors choice.

Carol was born March 28, 1943 in Morristown to Donald and Mabel (Vollbrecht) Hiller. She had attended Waterville-Elysian School. On June 4, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bernard McCollum in Waterville. Carol was a nursing assistant for various health care agencies during the past 20 years. She had also assisted her sister, Dylane McCollum with D&L Diner in St. Clair. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, camping and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Danberry and special friend, Dale Paulson of Janesville; three grandchildren, Jared Danberry and special friend, Deidre Schmidt, Nick Danberry and special friend, Julie Flemming, and Megan Paulson all of Janesville; two great-grandchildren, Hope and Hunter; mother, Mabel Hiller of Morristown; 11 siblings, Ralph (Elaine) Hiller of Owatonna, David (Marsha) Hiller of Mankato, Darlene Welp of Madelia, James Hiller and special friend, Mary Nelson of Waterville, Ronald Hiller of Madelia, Roger (Connie) Hiller of Bemidji, Curtis Hiller and special friend, Jodi Gronewald of Madelia, Kevin Hiller of Waterville, Alan (Lori) Hiller of Waterville, Randy Hiller and special friend, Kris Christianson of Waterville, Brenda (Bryan) Lillie of Kasota; many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; husband, Bernard in 2004; son-in-law, Brad Danberry; three brothers, Lyle, Kenneth, and Gene; sister, Dylane; and niece, Sonya Welp.
